Support After Having a Baby

The months after having a baby can bring joy, and they can also bring exhaustion, worry, low mood, irritability, or a sense of not feeling like yourself. Many new parents feel pressure to be grateful and happy, which can make it harder to say when you're struggling.

Postpartum counselling offers a space to talk openly about what this transition is really like. Our clinicians support parents with low mood, anxiety, intrusive worries, birth experiences that didn't go as planned, relationship changes, and adjusting to a new identity as a parent.

Video and telephone sessions mean you can get support from home, fitting sessions around feeds and naps.

Sessions are available by video or telephone across Ontario, in person in St. Catharines, and in your home in Niagara, subject to clinician availability. Most extended health benefit plans cover our services, and sliding-scale options are available.

If you're having thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, call or text 9-8-8 or go to your nearest emergency department. Otherwise, book a free 20-minute consultation or use our therapist-matching form, and we'll help you find a clinician who fits.
